This summer, we have six weeks of creative and fun-filled classes scheduled for children of all ages. As a volunteer, you are essential to helping us make sure that these six weeks are as amazing as they can possibly be. Every day, you will help to assist our awesome art teachers in their classes as well as supervise the students during their outside time. You can accomplish this by (1) encourage the students to pay attention to the teacher’s or staff’s instructions and follow the rules, (2) help to keep them focused on their own work and not distract other students, (3) engage in discussion with them about the work that they are doing both in class and during their outside time (4) supervise their behavior and keep them in their designated area during their outside time, and lastly but most importantly (5) motivate them to act kindly and considerately towards the teachers, staff, volunteers, and their fellow students as well as have fun! We hope you will gain a lot of great experiences and have tons of fun while volunteering at the Kings Art Center this summer!
Summer Schedule
Volunteer Orientation: Saturday, June 9th from 12 - 1pm
Week 1: June 18 – 22
Week 2: June 25 – 29
Week off: July 2 – 6 (no classes)
Week 3: July 9 – 13
Week 4: July 16 – 20
Week 5: July 23 – 27
Week 6: July 30 – Aug 3
Evening of the Arts Prep: Wednesday, August 8th and/or Thursday, August 9th time(s) TBD
Evening of the Arts: Friday, August 10th from 5-8pm (attendance not required)
Daily Schedule
- Summer Classes will take place Monday-Friday for (6) weeks, not including the week off for Independence Day, as outlined in the Summer Schedule above.
- Student drop-off will take between 8 – 8:30am every day.
- Classes will take place between 8:30am – 12:00pm every day
