The Kings County Homelessness Collaborative is in need of volunteers to help make our third event a success! This event is a great way to engage and connect with Project Roomkey residents through food, conversation, and art. During the event, we will be providing plant pots for attendees to paint. Residents will then be allowed to take home their completed artwork. Volunteers present will be asked to interact and engage with the residents. You are encouraged to paint your own pot and converse with all attendees present. The goal of these Project Roomkey events is to facilitate a positive community perspective on homelessness in Kings County.
What is Project RoomKey?
Project Roomkey was established in March 2020 as part of the state response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of Project Roomkey is to provide non-congregate shelter options for people experiencing homelessness, protect human life, and minimize strain on health care system capacity.
This event begins at 10am and runs until 11:30am. We are asking that volunteers show up at 9:30am to help with set up and a small orientation as well as staying after the event for clean up. Please fill out a media release form before the event, if you are able to do so, and email to Cameron. We will have physical copies day of the event to fill out as well.
If you would like to donate food or art supplies we are looking for:

Snacks such as pretzels, trail mix, granola bars

Supplies such as paints in all colors, paint brushes, pots, plants or seeds
